Court Administration

Court Administration provides leadership and direction for all business operations, programs, and policies of the Juvenile Court. Guided by the Court's mission of protecting the community, providing justice, and strengthening youth and families, our team works collaboratively to oversee case flow management, finance, human resources, grant administration, information technology, public relations, and facility maintenance.

By fostering teamwork and maintaining strong operational support, Court Administration helps ensure the Court runs efficiently and continues to serve youth, families, and the community with care and excellence. The department also provides direct supervision and guidance to the following Court divions:

• Clerk of Court
• Detention Facility
• Intake & Dispositional Planning
• Court Services & Probation
• Information Technology
• Maintenance
• CASA/GAL

Court Hours of Operation

The regular business hours of the Richland County Juvenile Court are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Court is closed on all legal holidays observed by the Richland County Board of Commissioners.

While these hours govern general operations, the Court remains committed to serving the needs of youth, families, and the community. Court sessions may be held at additional times as ordered by the Judge or as required to address special circumstances, emergencies, or unique case situations. This flexibility ensures that the Court continues to function efficiently, uphold due process, and provide timely responses to all matters within its jurisdiction.

Richland County Juvenile Court Local Court Rules

The Local Rules of the Richland County Juvenile Court are the formal procedures and guidelines established by the Court to govern how cases are filed, managed, and heard. These rules outline the standards, responsibilities, and processes that attorneys, parties, and the public must follow when interacting with the Court.

Local Rules ensure that all proceedings are handled fairly, efficiently, and consistently, while aligning with the Ohio Rules of Juvenile Procedure and applicable state laws. They address matters such as case filings, motions, hearings, evidence, and courtroom conduct, helping to maintain order and clarity in all judicial operations.
