Detention
About Detention
The Richland County Juvenile Detention Facility provides a safe, secure, and rehabilitative environment for youth who are determined to pose a potential risk to themselves or the community. The program is designed to balance accountability with compassion—employing the least restrictive methods necessary while always serving the best interests of each child.
Detention Administration and staff provide 24-hour supervision, ensuring both safety and structure. The facility offers single-room housing for up to 25 youth, with daily programming that focuses on personal growth and skill development. Activities include physical fitness, life skills training, art classes, optional spiritual meetings, and a variety of structured recreational opportunities. In addition, residents participate in a year-round educational program taught by certified teachers, ensuring continued academic progress during their stay.
Located within the Richland County Juvenile Justice Center at 411 South Diamond Street, Mansfield, Ohio 44902, the Detention Facility remains dedicated to providing a supportive and disciplined environment that helps youth take meaningful steps toward positive change.
