Community Control & Probation
Probation Services provides structured supervision, guidance, and support to youth placed under court oversight, with a focus on accountability, personal growth, and long-term success. Youth who are court-ordered to supervision may be assigned to community control, probation, or intensive probation, with the appropriate level of intervention determined through a comprehensive risk assessment screening.
The primary goal of Probation Services is to reduce recidivism among youth placed under community supervision by implementing evidence-based practices proven to encourage positive behavioral change. These practices include Effective Practices in Community Supervision (EPICS), Motivational Interviewing, and High Fidelity Wraparound.
Through these approaches, Probation Services develops and applies individualized strategies tailored to each youth’s unique strengths and needs. This process includes close monitoring, consistent engagement, and frequent interactive court reviews, all designed to foster accountability, build life skills, and support meaningful, lasting transformation.
