Aggression Replacement Training (ART)
Aggression Replacement Training (ART) is an evidence-based intervention designed to help youth develop the skills and competencies needed to manage the emotional, social, and behavioral factors that contribute to aggression. The program focuses on equipping participants with practical tools to improve self-control, decision-making, and prosocial behavior, fostering healthier interactions at home, at school, and in the community.
ART consists of three interrelated components:
Structured Learning Training (SLT): Teaches youth pro-social skills to improve interpersonal interactions and develop positive problem-solving abilities.
Anger Control Training: Helps participants recognize triggers, manage frustration, and respond to challenging situations appropriately.
Moral Reasoning: Encourages reflection on ethical decision-making, personal responsibility, and the impact of one's actions on others.
Through consistent practice, guided instruction, and supportive feedback, ART aims to reduce aggressive behaviors, promote accountability, and foster personal growth, preparing youth to make positive choices and succeed in all areas of life.
