Community & Volunteer Services

Youth who have victimized the person or property of another are held accountable for their actions through structured Community Service and Restitution programs. This program is available to youth ages 13–18, where damages or monetary losses can be reasonably determined.

Participants in the program earn credit toward restitution by completing a prescribed number of service hours, calculated based on the total amount of damage or loss. All work is performed in partnership with public or private non-profit agencies that have agreed to supervise youth and provide meaningful, productive work opportunities.

To ensure safety, compliance, and effectiveness, all work sites are monitored by the Community Service Coordinator. The Coordinator ensures that each site meets Minor Labor Law requirements and that program conditions are upheld. Through this program, youth gain a sense of responsibility, accountability, and community engagement, while making tangible amends for the harm caused.
